Even with the extra processing power, the iPad 2 will have the same 10 hour battery life as the original. It’s also coming with both front and rear facing cameras, an omission from the original iPad that drew much comment from critics, and will have a gyroscope just like the iPhone and iPod touch. Impressively, despite the extra features and upgrades the iPad 2 will be lighter and thinner than the original and, in fact, thinner than the iPhone 4 at just 8.8mm.
